Project name: Helping Churches Help People
Project description: Love INC works to help Christian churches combine their time, talents and finances to work together to help our neighbors in need making a bigger impact then any one church alone. We created a clearinghouse where people in need are referred and screened and then referred to the appropriate agency or church to help meet a need. We have a database where church volunteer information is kept and what they can or are willing to help with and then we match them to people in need who have requested the help volunteers that are able to meet the need. We are constantly trying to recruit new churches and church volunteers to work together. We have a furniture bank, where free furniture is given to people in need and it needs replenished. We have churches with clothing banks, food pantries. In the past we have found help for eviction prevention and utility assistance but have limited that drastically this past year. 65% of our clients are single moms, multiple kids making less than $1500 a month. We also have a lot of calls from single adults who can't find help from agencies because they don't have children.
