Project description: Mountain View Community Center is "compelled by God to extend love, mercy, and compassion by providing resources and opportunities to all in our community." We are connected to Mountain View Lutheran Church in Edgewood and home to the Edgewood Community Food Bank, which serves families from all over Pierce County. We also host KidREACH, an after-school program through a partnership with World Vision. We serve all people in Pierce County, with a focus on East Pierce County. As we are in our first year of operation we need funding to help create our own direct programs that will benefit our food bank clients and the general community. The Community Center can also be rented out for events. Services for the community are given priority and discounts. We aim to connect people to causes and create a real sense of community by bringing people from all walks of life together.
Ways the public can help: Food, Clothing, Toys, Hygiene/Personal Items, Heating/Housing Assistance, Volunteer Labor, Medical/Dental Assistance, Mental Health Counseling, Job Training, Domestic Violence Recovery
Serves: All of Pierce County

The Community Center is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., and is available to rent most days and nights. The Edgewood Community Food Bank is open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and starting Jan. 8, every Thursday from 3:30-6:30pm. You may drop off food or other donations Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the church office.
