Project name: Emergancy Transportation and Relocation of Domestic Violence Victims
Project description: Founded in 1986 Family Renewal Shelter serves primarily high-risk domestic violence victims who may be killed or seriously injured by their intimate partners if there's no safe place for them to turn. Helping high risk domestic violence victims, including children fleeing abuse, often requires providing them with a means to escape and relocate to a safe new place. Bus, train and airplane tickets are needed as well as gas vouchers, phone cards, cell phones with minutes and auto repair. Cars donated to Family Renewal Shelter can then be licensed and insured and are given to domestic violence victims as a means of transportation to help them start over.
Ways the public can help: Food, Clothing, Toys, Hygiene/Personal Items, Heating/Housing Assistance, Volunteer Labor, Furniture/Household Goods, Medical/Dental Assistance, Mental Health Counseling, Job Training, Domestic Violence Recovery, Other
Serves: All of Pierce County

Donations can be dropped off at our administrative center at 6832 Pacific Avenue in Tacoma or we can be called for special arrangements and volunteer oportunities at 253-475-9010.
