Sample Lawyer comments:
  • "Knows the law inside and out, applies it fairly and holds people accountable. All you could ever want in a judge."
  • "She knows the law, but applies in unfairly in my opinion. She will take the opinion of a party over an expert as the basis for ruling."
  • "She is generally pretty respectful, but I have seen her be quite curt at times, cutting off an attorney who was trying to make a point with which the Judge (evidently) disagreed."
  • "I have been treated fairly, and I have seen the Judge make some very good, almost courageous, rulings, but sometimes it is evident that she has made her mind up before the arguments have been heard."
  • "She is absolutely fair and impartial. Some in the defense bar think she has a prosecution bias, but I would disagree."
Judge's response:

"I have had the distinct honor and pleasure of serving the citizens of Pierce County for 20 years as a Superior Court Judge. The comments are, for the most part, instructive for continued professional development. As Judges, we do not often have a forum for feedback from the public, jurors or litigants; but I view these attorney comments as helpful in my continued efforts to serve to the best of my abilities in a fair and consistent manner as a Superior Court Judge. Thank you."
