What do you see as the three top issues facing Steilacoom?
Purchase of the Bonneville Power Sub-Station so that eventually Steilacoom residents can get lower power rates.
Maintaining a balanced budget while improving Steilacoom infrastructure. Good roads, sidewalks and utility connections.
Developing a downtown corridor that encourages business to come to Steilacoom.
What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
Steilacoom already lives within its budget due to the diligent work of our current mayor, council and town staff. While many cities and towns around us are in financial trouble, Steilacoom, while not rich, is fiscally very solid and stable.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I have been on the Steilacoom Town Council for the last 4 years, and will no longer be a freshman councilwoman. Vote for me to retain a visionary, a person who sees what can be, and the only woman that will be seated on the Steilacoom council. I have proven to the voters that when I get behind in issue, things get done. I will work hard to keep Steilacoom a great place to live.
Personal Statement:
I am willing and able to serve the people of Steilacoom for 4 more years. One of the issues that we need to address is the lack of a safe bike and walking area on Lafayette Street from Sunnyside Beach Park to the Abitibi plant. I will continue to support a business corridor and activities for the Town of Steilacoom, and will always be there to listen and represent the people of Steilacoom.

What do you see as the three top issues facing Steilacoom?
1) Maintaining fiscal strength in light of the current and foreseeable economy.
2) Delivering high quality services that continue to increase in cost within the constraints of a limited business tax base and an increasing fixed income population.
3) Balancing the town's character with development needs.
What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
Within the context of maintaining autonomy, I would support more collaboration with other local governments to explore methods of leveraging each other's resources to avoid duplication of equipment and personnel and to learn from the other's experiences and best practices.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
My education and experience in business and law allow me to bring a set of skills to the council that will be a valuable resource to the town. I am open to all citizen's input and will strive to ensure that all views are considered on matters before the council so that confidence in the council and its processes are fostered.
