What do you see as the three top issues facing Puyallup?
My top three issues facing Puyallup Are: 1. Fiscal Responsibility 2. Public Safety 3. Equal representation with focus on Families and Children

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
1.Listening and honoring the voices of residents and managing/developing a budget around those ideas and concerns. 2.Hold our elected city officials and city employees to the highest standards of accountability to minimize wasteful spending of tax payer dollars on frivolous agendas. 3.Fostering partnerships and developing strategies focused on the long term and not just the immediate short term. 4.Maintaining our rainy day fund for emergency purposes only.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
First, I have invested many years in my community prior to running for office. I am familiar with the issues I will draw from my experience and education to get the business of the people done. Second, I am an independent voice and will make decisions with the city and its residents in mind. Lastly, I support and will promote economic development to create a place for future generations to live and raise families.

Personal Statement:
I bring a new perspective to the council; a view that has been absent and void of consideration by several on the current Dais. I will represent all residents, but especially hard working citizens and those raising families. We need to promote our community by remembering our rich heritage, managing growth, and taking action for a prosperous future. The council needs new representation, non-partisan, and without agendas. I respectfully ask for your Vote.

What do you see as the three top issues facing Puyallup?
Not necessarily in priority: 1. Re-prioritizing fiscal policy to allow more funding on infrastructure needs, implementing the LIFT program and adding a dedicated traffic unit to the police department. 2.Putting transparency of government into action through use of the City web site and responding to information requests by citizens/organizations expeditiously. 3. Encouraging economic growth, but addressing growth and its associate problems. Infrastructure; speeding; traffic congestion; parking and the rise in crime within city.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
Move Municipal Court to City Hall saving $8000/mo. rent. Establish a Council committee for over site of city credit card utilization and reimbursement claims. Establish an Economic Development Board that could identify projects beneficial to the city and independently issue bonds to fund these projects.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
As incumbent, and also currently as Deputy Mayor, I bring experience. Previously I served on the City Civil Service Commission and the Salary Commission. I attended Planning Commission and Council meetings for 2 years prior to running. I have a proven record of responding to citizen concerns. To date, I have been endorsed by the Tacoma-Pierce County Central Labor Council; the Pierce County Professional Firefighters; & The Tacoma News Tribune.

Personal Statement:
Foggy, general statements and skewed half-truths are not my forte. Demand specifics from candidates. GOVERNMENT IS A SERVICE ORGANIZATION. I TAKE PRIDE IN RESPONDING TO CITIZEN CONCERNS. I BELIEVE CITIZENS DESERVE THE COURTESY OF A RESPONSE EVEN THOUGH THE ANSWER MAY NOT BE WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR. I do not solicit or accept funding from individuals or organizations. I am your independent voice in government. I WELCOME YOUR SUPPORT AND ASK FOR YOUR VOTE.
