Occupation: student

Experience: Past member of the Auburn Optimist Club a civic club geared towards improving the lives of children in Auburn and surrounding South King County. Member of the Friends of the Lower White River. Volunteer at City of Pacific events including Pacific Days. Participated heavily in the flood relief efforts staying multiple days to help out my fellow neighbors here in Pacific.

Education: Three quarters Green River Community College. Currently an undergraduate student working on my BA in Business Administration with a major in finance. Getting my MBA is high on my priority list

What do you see as the three top issues facing Pacific?
Responsible managed growth, lack of youth teen and general programs for all others in the city and finally an out of control police chief and police department.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
Citizen input/community involvement in the budget process. This includes better outreach by elected officials so that we can all stay informed on what is going on in our city. Whether this is done by frequent workshops or by some other means we all have an invested interest in knowing how our city is doing and what our elected officials are doing for the citizens who elected them. We also need to pass balanced budgets!

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I offer enthusiasm, keen intellect, a diplomat's attitude to doing things and the firm belief that we can always do more to make our great city the best place to live in this state. As a single father I know and experience the struggles that we all face in this blue collar town. I would be honored and humbled to be able to count on your vote.

Personal Statement:
As a 4 and a half year resident of the city of Pacific I have watched this city grow incrementally and I want to be a part of working on solutions to keep the small town feel while allowing for responsible managed growth. There are currently two candidates in this race and I believe that either of us would do a marvelous job representing the citizens of this great city.

Experience: I serve on the Pacific Planning Commission, and am a regular attendee at the Pacific City Council meetings. As a citizen, I have worked directly with City leaders and City staff to make Pacific a city that serves its citizens more efficiently and more effectively. As a councilmember, I will continue that work in a role more appropriate to those duties and from a position suited to make a better difference in our community.

Education: Bachelor's Degree, Criminal Justice, Washington State University, 2003; Bachelor's Degree, Political Science, Washington State University, 2003.

What do you see as the three top issues facing Pacific?
Pacific, like many governments in Washington State, is facing significant budget shortfalls in this economy. The immediate challenge is how to provide essential services (public safety, transportation, infrastructure) of city government with increasingly limited resources. The larger issue facing Pacific is how to accommodate for the necessary growth and density (as required by the state's Growth Management Act) while at the same time keeping Pacific the neighborhood city that we've come to know and love.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
It's all a matter of priorities. There are a number of things that we would like government to provide, but that's not the criteria that we should use as government leaders. We must first ensure that we are providing those essential core services in the most efficient way. The services that may feel good, but don't meet that essential core services criteria are the first to go.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
As a homeowner and business-owner in Pacific, I understand first-hand the challenges faced by our residents and our businesses. With my years of experience working directly with law enforcement, economic development, local government and small business, I will be a valuable resource to Pacific - ensuring that we are working efficiently and effectively in the best interest of our citizens.

Personal Statement:
I have spent most of my adult life working for the public good. Pacific is where my wife and I started our family and our business. I have years of experience working with economic developers, law enforcement, cities, counties, and small businesses. Government isn't the answer to every problem; however, what we ask of our city needs to be done well. I am endorsed by the Mayor and the current Position 5 Councilmember.
