What do you see as the three top issues facing Fircrest?
Fircrest residents enjoy a unique quality of life that is rare within an urban setting. Our expectations include clean and maintained parks, safe streets, well run recreation programs and low-cost services. The issues that face Fircrest are similar to those facing most cities today. Reduced revenues will make it more difficult then ever to meet these expectations. Hard decisions will need to be made in order to manage all avenues of city government cost effectively.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
I believe that smart management and innovative thinking will be necessary to do business without impacting the Fircrest way of life. Establishing well thought out budgets and then managing to them will be key going forward. It will require processes and procedures that will insure efficient operations in all departments. The council will need to be creative when setting targets and goals and then have the methods in place that will examine all expenditures.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
My 38 year career with The Boeing Company included 26 years in management. I was responsible for forecasting , estimating and establishing resource budgets for various Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing organizations relating to people, space, capital and equipment. My professional experience, knowledge and managerial skills provide me the know-how that will help manage the affairs of the city. I will be responsive and responsible to your concerns.

Personal Statement:
I can't help but marvel that the quality of life in Fircrest has remained true to its roots, founded as "... an enchanting spot to enjoy life and raise a family." Between soccer, baseball and swimming, my wife and I raised our children here. Now grown, all three continue the tradition with our grandchildren. I am committed in preserving the Fircrest way of life for my grandchildren and all who live here.
