What do you see as the three top issues facing Fircrest?
Fixing our sewers; developing business tax revenue; addressing the needs of our new young families. Fircrest's sewer lines are in desperate need of repair. At any moment a portion of our mains could collapse and people would be forced from their homes. My opponent has known this day would come for the past 8 years and has consistently voted against raising the needed funds to fix the problem. Lack of action is crippling our city.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
I will support measures that focus on fair taxes and accountable governing practices. Developing our business tax base is crucial to maintaining our fantastic community resources and standard of living. We have a large plot of undeveloped land that has been squabbled over for far to long. The council should look for ways to help create new areas for businesses to grow as well as focusing on filling the current vacancies in our town center.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I will bring a fresh and contemporary perspective to the city council. The needs of young families are under represented on the council and with two babies of my own, I am able to identify and address their concerns. As a new member of the council, I'll be better able to make the right decisions based purely on facts without bias and influence from special interests. It's time for a new perspective and thoughtful change.

Personal Statement:
I've traveled the world for work and pleasure and in my heart of hearts I can say I love Fircrest! This is my city and I want to see it grow not in size or population, but rather in efficiency, services and community. We have an opportunity to change the stalemate on the council and get Fircrest moving again. Let's fix these sewers, grow our tax base and address the needs of our new citizens.

What do you see as the three top issues facing Fircrest?
Sewers, controlling expenditures while creating revenue sources. Fixing our sewers is paramount but we cannot burying Fircrest families and seniors under high sewer rates. Council is aggressively seeking Federal and State funding to offset costs while ensuring City Staff is being diligent when it comes to spending your money on pragmatic solutions to the sewer problem that will ensure the new system is cost effective, efficient and sustainable.

What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
With a limited tax base and an obligation to citizens to maintain and improve city services, we must first be fiscally responsible but also be actively seeking revenue to take the tax burden off citizens especially seniors on fixed incomes. I am working to broaden our tax base by strategizing with local businesses on ways to grow their business and attract new suitable businesses like a grocery co-op to the Town Center business district.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I have an appreciation for the hard work that past generations have made to make this a unique city and I want to continue to build on that. My real world business experience is built on decades of working with clients in making important decisions based on prudent planning and financial accountability. I am honored serving on a Council that represents the many facets of Fircrest from families with children to seniors.

Personal Statement:
Regardless if you are a new resident or raising a family or have chosen to retire in Fircrest, it is your energy, your ideas and your participation that will ensure Fircrest remains an extraordinary place to live. I take pride in working with Fircrest residents and businesses to solve problems and create opportunities. I will not turn my back on any resident regardless of how tough or contentious any issue becomes.
