What do you see as the three top issues facing DuPont?
1. A City Council that is attentive to the voice of the people, and seeking input on the major issues.
2. Working inside of the budget and exercising fiscal restraint.
3. Providing Fire and Police protection from monies that come from the general fund, and not reliant on levy for those funds.
What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
1. Cutting back on the dollars spent to mow and water the right of ways. Currently over a million dollars is spent on mowing and watering. This amount could be reduced in several ways without cutting into the overall beauty of the city.
2. Having our own fire department that is partially manned by fully qualified volunteers is appropriate. Being an offshoot of the Lakewood department is not cost effective.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I have served in the past on both the DuPont City Council and The Steilacoom School Board and have a proven record of getting the tasks completed. I am willing to work hard and put in the hours to be well informed on citizen needs. I have a full intent to listen to the citizens of the city and work with the citizens for the best in City government.

What do you see as the three top issues facing DuPont?
1. Providing sustainable services - especially public safety services - for the families of DuPont today and in the future.
2. Fostering economic development - welcoming and encouraging business to settle in our community in order to ensure the future economic vitality of our city.
3. Preserving DuPont's unique historical and natural environment for future generations.
What measures would you support to keep your city living within its means?
I support a balanced budget, fiscal responsibility, careful consideration of all new spending proposals, and transparency in the decision-making process.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
As a former deputy prosecutor and a public policy professional with over 20 years of experience, I bring a unique perspective to the council. My experience includes: Senior Counsel, Washington State Senate; Policy Analyst, Department of Social and Health Services; Legislative Analyst, Florida State Senate; and Economic Analyst, Florida Economic Growth and International Development Commission.
I also bring the perspective of a working mother of school-age children, the only one currently on the council.
Personal Statement:
My family and I love DuPont because it is a great place to live: it has a beautiful environment, a rich history, and a growing economy.
Over the past year as councilmember, I have enjoyed getting to know many of you and your concerns. I am committed to representing all the citizens of DuPont with honesty and integrity and ensuring that the city makes responsible choices as we move toward the future.
